Waggie Pty Ltd is a family owned business. Our life in the transport & logistics industry started over 50 years ago by ‘William John’, affectionately known as ‘Billy B’ to all his trucking mates. ‘Billy B’, now passed, left many legacies behind, driving for some of the largest companies in Queensland including A.F. Palmer and J.G. Miller removals before starting up his own company B.F.L ( Burns Frieght Lines) providing general freight services.
'Billy B' always spoke about the time he carted bricks for the local police station in Southport, QLD. One police officer would the stop traffic so 'Billy B' could back his truck up. Sometime later 'Billy B' attended the police station to obtain his license & ran into the same police officer. 'Billy B' said that the police couldn’t believe he didn’t have a license & said he handled the driving of his trucks like a professional.
The office quickly gave 'Billy B' his license.
Waggie Transport Groups’ original business focus was on general freight transportation, however over the decades we have successfully progressed to cover virtually any logistics requirements be it moving freight or, moving people.
Established in 70’s, we have grown steadily to become one of Australia’s largest privately owned transport Logistics’ companies. Today Waggie Transport Groups’ includes virtually all aspects of moving freight and, moving people. We integrate the latest technologies in both our operations and vehicles to provide you with efficient and cost-saving logistics options Australia wide.
Our business has 3 major divisions. 1. The movement of Freight & Equipment not matter how small or large or, the destination. 2. The leisure industry with our exciting Tour Group subsidiary. 3. Our Coach & Bus Charter Services providing transport to virtually any event and for any transfer.
Another legacy left by ‘Billy B' was of course passing his skills & business acumen on to his Son, Mr Frank Burns, the CEO & Managing Director of Waggie Pty Ltd. The strong family values that were instilled in Frank by his Father for many years are felt throughout the company with prompt customer service, caring and responsible drivers, excellent client communications and ever helpful staff.
There is no doubt that our extensive tenure and experience in the Transport & Logistics Industry places us in good stead to fulfil the responsibilities and take on the role of 'guardianship' to move whatever & whoever you need to transport be it Freight or People.
